Eg - Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park
Visit the 'Niagara Falls' of the north - and experience these beautiful water falls on the historic Kaministiquia River. Hike to Little Falls, and picnic along the shores.
Other natural areas are possible!
There are boundless other possibilities for exploring the spectacular natural areas on the northshore of Lake Superior (e.g. Sleeping Giant Provincial Park, or LRCA areas!)
Yes. We welcome children 9+ on most tours, with a few exceptions (e.g. the ‘Superior Happy Hour(s)’ Tour), as listed in the tour descriptions.
FYI – If the tour includes a tasting of an alcoholic beverage, there will be options for a small tasting of a non-alcoholic beverage to all guests under 19 years of age, and, for those who would prefer.
If you are interested in a family adventure, that is child-friendly (including smaller children and/or infants), or even a fun birthday-party – consider booking a private/custom tour that will cater to young foodies, adventurers and/or hikers!
Please contact us, as we’d love to co-create a fun, educational and kid-friendly private walking food tour catered to your interests – either in town, or in a nearby natural area!

The tours are held rain, shine, or snow.
However, if there is a significant storm that is effecting safe travel, we will either reschedule, or turn your tour into a ‘gift certificate’ to redeem at a later date.
We advise you to check the weather conditions for your days event, and dress appropriately, including sturdy footwear. In the winter months, this sturdy, warm footwear needs to be appropriate for snow/ice conditions.
In the summer months, we can lend umbrellas (for urban tours) or ponchos (for guided hikes) if you do not have your own.
In the winter months, we recommend you dress in layers, with a (non-cotton) wicking layer, insulating layers of wool or fleece, and a wind-breaker/shell – topped with cozy mittens and a hat of course!
FYI – Please note: even in the summer months, here in Thunder Bay, onshore wind off Lake Superior can be very chilly!
